Screamify has ordered 11 more episodes of its video podcast, premiering October 7. The order is small, and the signal it sends is not.

LOS ANGELES — Screamify has renewed The Horrored Girls for a second season of 11 episodes, premiering October 7, 2026 and releasing weekly. By the standards of streaming announcements the order is modest. It is also more interesting than its size suggests.

Genre streamers have historically treated original programming as a library problem. Acquire titles, license a slate, keep the shelf stocked. Talk programming is a different proposition. It costs money on a schedule, it cannot be bought in bulk, and it only compounds if the audience comes back on its own. A second order at the same length as the first is the closest thing this business has to a plain statement that the first one worked.

The show is a video podcast hosted and produced by Geri Courtney-Austein and Harley Bronwyn. Its structure is fixed and unusually disciplined for the form. A guest arrives, tells a “Horrorigin” story, rates a favorite horror film on three house meters, and then plays games that run from rapid-fire challenges to monster makeup competitions.

The First Season

Season 1 premiered October 15, 2025 and ran 11 episodes. The guest list leaned working-professional rather than marquee: directors Anthony DiBlasi, Chelsea Stardust and David Blue Garcia; special effects artist Jeff Farley; performers Patrick Fabian, Riley Dandy, Abby Wright and Michael Capes; along with Lee Waddell and Cheryl Meyer. That is a booking philosophy, not an accident. The show is more curious about how horror gets made than about who is on a poster this month.

What Has Not Been Announced

No Season 2 guests have been named. According to the show's press materials, outreach spans upcoming horror features and television series along with established genre figures and rising performers, and confirmations are expected before the premiere. In a market where announcements routinely outrun signed deals, the restraint is worth noting.

Both hosts carry credits well outside the show. Courtney-Austein has appeared in Better Call Saul, Scream Queens, Atypical and NCIS, and is an associate producer on David Mamet's adaptation of Speed-the-Plow. Bronwyn leads the horror comedy Scream Therapy and appears in Bring Him To Me opposite Barry Pepper and Sam Neill, with the cult drama Abigail Before Beatrice ahead of her.
